I took this picture when we went to rain trekking near Annapurna area last year. this was a piece of wood, very odd size and style.. just some one can't even use it.. and they had put by the side of the path and it was just laying there and there only few yellow mushrooms on the top of it..
when I looked at this piece of wood last night.. some thought came to my mind. I know this was a odd size and type of wood that was neither useful nor has anything useful for..
I think trees have many different roles.. but if we just think of usefulness of it.. one thing it gives fruits.. and if not.. they are great use for the furniture and there so many uses of the piece of wood. but only for that pieces which is easy to give a shape etc.. some pieces wood are not that easy to use or even make any use of it.. then it ends up either in fire or by the side of the road till it fully rots and has some chances for useless mushrooms.
when I think about this.. I find many similarities with us, humans. I have seen many people so beautifully created in God's image and his plan. but they are very stubborn, very hard to be changed to certain shape God may have thought.. very corrupted with evil thoughts and understanding. very strong in a way of their desire. and many times those people are being dead for God and for people.. they neither do anything by themselves nor be open to be changed and useful. I remember once Jesus rebuking Pharisees that they hold the key of the kingdom of heaven but neither they inter into it nor they let others to go there.. and they are like a useless small pieces of wood that lied down by the side of the footpath and only been useful for rooting and useless mushrooms.
so be flexible and let God mold you and shape you into his design and be a service of either giving a fruit, being a strong branch of the tree or a beautiful piece of wood that is perfectly carved and artistically decorated on the wall of some one.. may be even on the wall of the meeting hall of the King of Kings.. where every one sees it and goes.., " wow, what a beautiful piece". BUT DON'T BE DEAD OR USELESS. EITHER LIVE AS A TREE AND GIVE A FRUITS AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE ENVIRONMENT OR BE USEFUL EVEN IF YOU ARE DEAD LIKE A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF WOOD.
are you ready to be shaped? to be changed? God can mold you and make you a beautiful and useful piece.. in many ways you have hope and future.. just be ready to be changed and used.
